Because of the nature of diagnosis, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are usually less social and more rigid, making them great employees!
Social and language impairments are beneficial when tasks need to get done. Employees with ASD won’t be caught socializing around the water cooler, nor will they be surfing Facebook instead of working. Also, many individuals with ASD like things a certain way. This is a perfect trait for an employee who needs to do tasks that require perfection!
A huge kudos to these employers who are taking the next step towards recognizing these quality traits in individuals with ASD!!
